Static vs dynamic QR codes
A static QR code stores your link directly in the pattern. It's free, it never expires, and it can never be changed. A dynamic QR code stores a short qr-simple.com link instead, and that short link forwards people to your real destination.
Because the forwarding happens on our side, you can change the destination whenever you like, and every scan can be counted. That is the whole difference: editing and analytics in exchange for a subscription.
- Choose static if the content will never change: your home page, a map location, a plain-text label.

What you can change after printing
A Pro dynamic code can point to any website, or to a page we host for you: a PDF up to 20 MB, an image up to 5 MB, a Wi-Fi page with your network name and password, a contact profile with your photo, a page of social links, a multi-link page or an app-download page. Change the link, upload a new file or update the page, and the same printed code shows the new version.
You can also add optional password protection, sort codes into folders, and keep up to 50 dynamic codes on one plan with unlimited scans.

Can I edit a QR code after printing?
